Upcoming Competition: WIRC Finals
Hi Everyone!
I wanted to give everyone the details about an upcoming competition that we have the opportunity to compete in!
** IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY January 21st! **
On the weekend of February 22nd we have the opportunity to travel to Jackson, MI to compete in WIRC Finals, hosted by the University of Michigan Rifle Team. This competition is the finals for the WIRC postal targets that we have been shooting every month. This will most likely be a university excused absence. What that means is:
Student Organization members may request letters to verify their participation in co-curricular activities in the event that they need to miss class to do so. This letter is meant to confirm a student’s participation in an extracurricular activity, however it is not an excuse and it is the responsibility of the student to inform the instructor(s) and gain permission to make up any assignments, course work, and quizzes missed during this time.
The course of fire is 60 shots air rifle, and 60 shots 3-position smallbore. This will be following the NRA Collegiate rule book and 3-position format. (Prone - Standing - Kneeling)
The cost to attend will be somewhere in the $0-40 range and will be all inclusive except for food, entertainment and ammunition. (Actual cost will depend on how many people we have going) We have a subsidy and enough equipment for up to 10 competitors.
I anticipate we will be shooting on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning, so we probably have some felxability in our departure on Friday. But I won't know for sure until after I submit our entry. I do know that we will be returning to Houghton late Sunday or early Monday morning.
Thanks,
Zach
