I hope you all had a great first two weeks of class, and an enjoyable long K-Day weekend!
Welcome back to all of our returning members and welcome to those who we met with at K-day. I just wanted to let you know that the official start of the 2022/2023 Rifle Season begins tomorrow! We will be at the SDC Rifle Range practicing monday night from 6-10pm!
Joining and renewing your membership is simple. Just show up to the range during our range hours and we can take care of it. If you are unsure if MTUCRT is for you, please remember that your first time shooting with us is free. Just come on up to the range and ask any of our friendly range officers! It can't hurt to give it a shot (or 10) can it?
Since this is the beginning of our season there will be a lot of new people, commotion and a touch of confusion at the range for the first week or so while we get everyone's paperwork, safety training, member orientation and whatnot taken care of and will run slower than practice normally will. Please just be aware of this, but don't let it discourage you from coming down and having a good time!
Our hours for the fall semester are as follows:
- Monday 6-10pm
- Tuesday 6-10pm
As a general rule if no one shows up to shoot within one hour of opening the range, the officer can choose to close up the range and leave if they choose to do so. To prevent this from happening, if you are planning on showing up more than one hour after the range is scheduled to open, please send an email to the range officer for that day letting them know that you will be shooting and optionally what time you expect to arrive.
Sometimes people run behind schedule... It happens. Please allow the range officer 15 minutes to show up if they aren't there on time, before leaving. If an email hasn't been sent out canceling range hours, chances are that they are just running a bit late.
