Rifle Team Weekly Happenings 2022-10-02

Hi Everyone!

I hope that everyone has had a great week.

Items this week:

• We will be at the SDC Rifle Range this week:
  • Monday 6pm - 10pm
  • Tuesday 6pm - 10pm
• What we will be working on this week:
  • For anyone that joined this year and has completed Prone, you will be learning how to use a spotting scope and "zero" our rifles..
    • After that we will play some games.  
  • For anyone that hasn't reached this point you will be working on something else.
  • For anyone who has not shot yet  (It's never too late to start!)
    • This week you will be working through a combined "This is A Rifle", "Intro to Standing"  as well as start of practice Air Rifle assembly and end of practice disassembly.
• Homework - Learn the rules
  
  • Think of a calming, happy place or scene that you're able to visualize.  Someplace you're able to return to over and over just by thinking about it.   
  • That's it.  Find that place and bring it to the range.
• If you are interested in joining, come down to the range and try us out! It's never too late to start!

Upcoming Items:

• Next week we will start going over competitions.
  • For anyone not up to speed on all 3 shooting positions, we have a quick overview of the 3 positions.
• For anyone returning you should be starting to work on getting acquainted with 3 position competition.
• We will be having an organizational membership meeting in October.  The date will be announced once it's scheduled
  • It's important to show up for these meetings.  This is where we do things like pass bylaws and approve spending.
  • We have a minimum member attendance requirement (Called a Quorum) that needs to be met in order for us to do anything.
• We will be shooting our first competition in the last two weeks of October.  An email going over the details will be sent out at the beginning of October.
• We will have some travel opportunities coming up in November or December.  More details will be released when I finalize some plans with the other coaches.
  • It would be really beneficial to help planning if you could send me a list of dates where you would be unable to travel somewhere for the weekend.
