Rifle Team Weekly Happenings 2023-01-29

Hi Everyone!

I hope that everyone had a great week.

Range Time This Week:

• Monday 6pm - 10pm
• Tuesday 6pm - 10pm
  • Note: Coaching will be unavailable this Tuesday as I will be shooting my MSRL targets

Items this week:

• We will be shooting our final postal set of WIRC targets  They are due on January 31st. 
• For anyone that wants to, we will be shooting our MSRL Match 1+2 Targets this week.  To be counted for the team score, I need them shot by the 31st.
  • If you're unable to shoot them, it is possible to make these up later.  They will count for Match 1+2 individual scores, but not the Match 1+2 team score.
• For anyone that just joined last week we will work on a training program to bring you up to speed.
• The deadline for signing up to go to the WIRC Championships is Feb 1 (Thats this Wednesday).   Also - Date Correction.   This match will be on the weekend of the 18th.
  • We'll be traveling to Jackson, MI to shoot the WIRC Championships.  
  • It looks like we will be leaving on February 17th.  Our departure time depends on when we shoot.   If we're not shooting until the evening of the 18th, we'll depart later and grab a hotel in Mackinaw or something.
  • Smallbore & Air Rifle will occur on the 18th and 19th.
  • At 6pm on the 19th, there will be an awards ceremony.  We might skip this, depending on people's schedules and need to be back in Houghton on Monday.
• If you are interested in joining, come down to the range and try us out!  It's never too late to start!

Upcoming Items:

• We've got some upcoming competitions in the next few weeks.  Here's what's coming up:
  • Feb 24th-26th - WIRC Finals (Jackson, MI)
  • Mar 11th+12th - 2023 Michigan Indoor 3-Position & Air State Championships (Jackson, MI)
• Sometime in February we will be electing our officers for the 2023-2024 School Year.
  • The term is from the first Saturday after Spring Semester Finals Week at noon until the first Saturday after Spring Semester finals week the next year at noon.
  • The President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant at Arms are all up for election.
