Upcoming Competition: Intercollegiate Club Nationals
Hi Everyone!
I wanted to let everyone know about another exciting competition that we have the opportunity to compete in!
On the weekend of March 31st -> April 2nd, we have the opportunity to travel to Ft. Wayne, IN to compete in the Intercollegiate Rifle Club National Championsh
Student Organization members may request letters to verify their participation in co-curricular activities in the event that they need to miss class to do so. This letter is meant to confirm a student’s participation in an extracurricular activity, however it is not an excuse and it is the responsibility of the student to inform the instructor(s) and gain permission to make up any assignments, course work, and quizzes missed during this time. ( Verified Absence Policy )
The course of fire is and 60 shots 3-position smallbore on Saturday, and 60 shots AIr Rifle on Sunday. The 3-position format will be Prone - Standing - Kneeling.
This match is being shot on electronic targets. If you've never shot on electronic targets, it's pretty amazing, and this would be a great place to try it out at.
Because this is a collegiate competition there are is a special qualification criteria to enter:
4.6.2.5. Collegiate
4.6.2.5.1. Undergraduate students that maintain a minimum of twelve (12) credits per semester or the equivalent in a two-year or four-year institution and have not received a Bachelor’s degree.
4.6.2.5.2. Collegiate eligibility is for four (4) years over a total period of five (5) years starting upon attendance of the first class as a full-time student. The five (5) year rule may be extended due to military service that lasts for more than two (2) consecutive months.
For this match only - Collegians must be full-time during all semesters in which they compete; except for their final semester which may be less than 12 hours. If a collegian goes to graduate school directly after graduation from undergraduate school, and has one, or more, year(s) of eligibility left, the graduate student may compete (and complete their four years of eligibility) in their first year of graduate school.
The cost to attend is estimated to be in the $0-30 range and will be all inclusive except for food, and entertainment.
- The Team & Individual Entries, Ammunition, and part of the Travel, & Lodging expenses will be covered by our MidwayUSA Foundation Grant.
- Any remaining and SAF eligible costs will be covered by our remaining SAF Allocation.
- Any outstanding expenses will then be split evenly by all attending (Coaching staff & Participants)
- I've run the numbers and this scenario is unlikely.
If you want to take a look at the match program; it can be found here
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY March 23rd!
Thanks,
Zach
