Upcoming Competition: WIRC Finals
Hi Everyone!
I hope that between the time reading the last message, and this one you are still having a fantastic week! I wanted to let everyone know about another upcoming competition that we have the opportunity to compete in!
** IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY FEBRUARY 1! **
On the weekend of February 26th we have the opportunity to travel to Lafayette, IN to compete in WIRC Finals, hosted by the Purdue Rifle & Pistol Club. This competition is the finals for the WIRC postal targets that we have been shooting every month. This will most likely be a university excused absence. What that means is:
Student Organization members may request letters to verify their participation in co-curricular activities in the event that they need to miss class to do so. This letter is meant to confirm a student’s participation in an extracurricular activity, however it is not an excuse and it is the responsibility of the student to inform the instructor(s) and gain permission to make up any assignments, course work, and quizzes missed during this time.
The course of fire is 60 shots air rifle, and 60 shots 3-posiiton smallbore. As far as I know, this will be following the NCAA rule book and 3-position format. (Kneeling - Prone - Standing).
The cost to attend will be somewhere in the $50 range and will be all inclusive except for food, entertainment and ammunition. (Actual cost will depend on how many people we have going, and I will know that on Feb 1) We have a subsidy and enough equipment for up to 10 competitors.
We will probably be firing on the afternoon relay, so we have a little bit of flexibility on our departure time, but I really would like to depart before Noon due to the lengthy drive, but we do have a bit of flexibility, so I won't be able to produce an itinerary until I know whose going.
Thanks,
Zach
