2016-10-09 Weekly Happenings
Hi Everyone!
I hope all of you had a great weekend!
- This week we are working on getting everyone up to speed on 3 position competition.
- For anyone that is up to speed on 3 position competition, we will be working on refining the prone position. This includes making adjustments to the rifle, zeroing and other intermediate things.
- We are going to get started preparing for the WIRC. Look for a separate message to be sent out later today or tomorrow.
- Yesterday was 10.9 day! For those of you who don't know that it is. It's a day celebrated by a lot of Olympic style shooters and clubs (such as ours). A 10.9 is the highest possible value on the target when using decimal scoring. Being able to get a 10.9 is the mark of perfection. The purpose of 10.9 day is to recognize the pursuit of and achievement of that excellence. But this day shouldn't just be celebrated on October 9th, or even just for shooting. It's purpose is to encourage everyone to strive for excellence with everything you do; both on and off the range.
- For more information, read the USA Shooting news article here -> http://www.usashooting.org/news/882
- If you are interested in joining and are unsure, come down to the range and try us out! It's never to late to start!
- Due to our trip to the Boilermaker, there is a chance the range will be closed this Saturday.
Upcoming Items:
- Next week we will continue working on refining and practicing the Prone position for anyone that has completed the basic intro to 3-position.
- We will have a few more travel opportunities coming up sometime in late October / early November. More details will be released when I finalize some plans with the other coaches. It looks like we will be going to UW-Oshkosh or UW-Superior in early November, but I'm still waiting on a date.
